DOP Ivan Kovacが参加しているアメリカのプロジェクトが、米エンターテインメント業界誌 Variety に掲載されました。本作は、日本人女性ボクサー 蛭田瑞希選手の挑戦を追ったドキュメンタリー作品「I Want to Be a Superstar」。蛭田選手は2025年、ニューヨーク市のシプリアーニで開催されたリングマガジン・アワードにて年間最優秀女子ボクサーに選出。プロデビュー後間もなくWBOスーパーフライ級タイトルを獲得し、以降も無敗を維持するなど、女子ボクシング界で存在感を示しています。ディレクターを務めるのは、ドキュメンタリー映画『Mr. Jimmy』で知られる、ロサンゼルスを拠点とするプロデューサー兼ディレクターのPeter Michael Dowd。世界を舞台に戦う彼女の姿に焦点が当てられており、海外メディアからも注目が集まっています。現在も撮影が進行中で、完成に向けて制作が続いています。本作の今後の展開にも期待が高まります。

A U.S.based project featuring DOP Ivan Kovac has been featured in the American entertainment industry magazine Variety. The project is a documentary “I Want to Be a Superstar”, which follows the journey of a Japanese female boxer Mizuki Hiruta. In 2025, Hiruta was named Female Boxer of the Year at the Ring Magazine Awards held at Cipriani in New York City. Shortly after her professional debut, she won the WBO super flyweight title and has remained undefeated since, establishing a strong presence in women’s boxing. The film is directed by Peter Michael Dowd, a Los Angeles–based producer and director best known for the documentary “Mr. Jimmy”. The film focuses on Hiruta as she competes on the global stage. The work has already attracted attention from international media. Production is currently underway, with filming ongoing as the project moves toward completion. Anticipation continues to build for its upcoming development.
